YOUR First Kindermusik Lesson

Hello, Parents!

Most of you have had your first week of Kindermusik for the semester!  I hope you had a great time.  The first class can be full of excitement, but it can also be a bit of an adjustment to some....especially my first timers!  It is new, "out of the ordinary", and a little confusing to them!  Don't forget to be patient with them as they figure out their surroundings.  It is not uncommon for them to be shy, clingy, wander or even be a little fussy.  It is just their way of trying to figure out what on earth is going on!   Getting into the routine of Kindermusik usually takes 2-3 classes for them to relax and have fun...sometimes less, and sometimes a little longer.  If you have questions about what TYPICAL behaviors are during Kindermusik, make sure to read my first blog posting "Welcome to Kindermusik".  It is handy to arm yourself with those tips as we gear up for a fun semester in Kindermusik!

YOUR First Kindermusik Lesson:  The "First Lesson of Kindermusik" isn't really even for the KIDS.  It is for the PARENTSRemember that the best thing you can do as a parent is relax, have fun, and connect with your child.  Think of all the places you take your kids that they have to act like "mini-grownups"....Well, this is a place where they can be themselves and YOU get to act like a "big KID"!  Childhood is precious time, and it goes too fast! So enjoy each age and stage of your little ones!

We learn a lot of things in Kindermusik, but the value of the social interaction and quality time connecting with your child is so very important.  These early experiences with music and learning will really shape these LITTLE people into the kind of BIG people they will turn out to be.  They may or may not remember the specifics of the lessons they learn in Kindermusik, but they are learning life lessons, the love of learning, strenghening the bond with their parents, and friendship for sure.  And they are learning that you are with them, both physically and emotionally, during the journey.

I hope you will look forward to your next class as much as I am!  I love to see my "old friends" again, and I look forward to getting to know my NEW friends this semester as well!

***I welcome your comments! How did YOUR first week of class go?

Welcome To Kindermusik!

Welcome To Kindermusik!
If this is your FIRST Kindermusik experience, you may have questions about what to expect in your first Kindermusik class!  Some parents worry because their child seems more shy or quiet during activities and other parents worry that their child is TOO active and not paying attention or focusing during activities. On my website, I have written about some typical behaviors you might observe during class.  Children will react to Kindermusik class differently from one another.   The most important thing for you to do as a parent, is to relax and have fun!  This is a place for your child to learn and grow the way he/she likes best (and that may change moment to moment)!   You will find the most success if you follow your child's lead and be a patient and gentle guide.  Click on the link below for age-specific recommendations and tips to help you use Kindermusik as a learning tool for your child.
