Most of you have had your first week of Kindermusik for the semester! I hope you had a great time. The first class can be full of excitement, but it can also be a bit of an adjustment to some....especially my first timers! It is new, "out of the ordinary", and a little confusing to them! Don't forget to be patient with them as they figure out their surroundings. It is not uncommon for them to be shy, clingy, wander or even be a little fussy. It is just their way of trying to figure out what on earth is going on! Getting into the routine of Kindermusik usually takes 2-3 classes for them to relax and have fun...sometimes less, and sometimes a little longer. YOUR First Kindermusik Lesson: The "First Lesson of Kindermusik" isn't really even for the KIDS. It is for the PARENTS! Remember that the best thing you can do as a parent is relax, have fun, and connect with your child. Think of all the places you take your kids that they have to act like "mini-grownups"....Well, this is a place where they can be themselves and YOU get to act like a "big KID"! Childhood is precious time, and it goes too fast! So enjoy each age and stage of your little ones!
We learn a lot of things in Kindermusik, but the value of the social interaction and quality time connecting with your child is so very important. These early experiences with music and learning will really shape these LITTLE people into the kind of BIG people they will turn out to be. They may or may not remember the specifics of the lessons they learn in Kindermusik, but they are learning life lessons, the love of learning, strenghening the bond with their parents, and friendship for sure. And they are learning that you are with them, both physically and emotionally, during the journey.
